Dance
Dance is taught at St Catherine’s College to enable students to experience a broad and balanced curriculum, allowing them to access an aesthetic appreciation which will open their minds to understanding and appreciating different art forms. We aim to encourage students to think creatively to explore movement which communicates a variety of topics and develop an understanding of different cultures and eras through dance.
Through our curriculum, we allow students to work collaboratively to create dance pieces which show an understanding of both choreography and performance, developing their confidence to showcase their skills to others.
We aim to nurture students’ ability to critically appreciate professional dance works and their choreographers. We believe this allows students to develop their cultural understanding and gives them the tools to confidently discuss Dance as an art form.
