St Catherine’s College Catering
The St Catherine’s College Catering team operates the school café, the small salad bar and the shops. The café has a dining room providing an ideal setting for students and visitors to eat great food, meet new people and socialise.
The dedicated catering team prepare a four-week menu cycle which is reviewed and amended on a regular basis so may be subject to occasional changes. They provide a fresh, creative and nutritious approach to café catering, built on fundamental beliefs that food should be healthy and that school lunches should be a time for everyone to look forward to and enjoy.
The café offers a wide range of menu items including a vegetarian option and healthy alternatives. The menu is prepared daily with low levels of salt, sugar and saturated fat.
At St Catherine's College we have a real commitment to ethically sourced produce and a wide range of dishes that meet the dietary needs and a taste of a diverse, international community. We use quality products including fairtrade hot chocolate, coffee, orange juice and apple juice, and also use free range eggs that are sourced locally.

“The Eat Well Plate”:
- Fruit and vegetables, providing vitamins, minerals and fibre

- Bread, rice, potatoes and pasta
Our catering team provide healthy balanced meals because they improve young people’s concentration and performance in school; as well as promoting health, growth and development, increase of resistance to illness and introduces good habits for later life.
Cashless catering procedures:
Cashless catering encourages students to purchase food from school caterers, reducing the risk of them making unhealthy eating choices by spending cash elsewhere. It also allows our catering team to serve students quickly and efficiently.

Free School Meal:
If you are entitled to free school meals, your daily allowance is £2.40.

Breakfast: 8:00 - 8:30am
Menu: scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, muffins, bagels, croissants, pan au chocolat, fairtrade hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice, water, fresh fruits, fruit pot and yogurt.
Break time: 11:10 - 11:30am
Lunchtime: 1:30 - 2:00pm
The café, salad bar and tuck shops are all open at break and lunch times.
Menu: 'Grab & Go' allows you to grab our daily freshly made pizza, filled baguettes, paninis, sandwiches, wraps, croissant with ham and cheese, salad pots, fresh fruits, fruit pots, yogurts, cheese and cracker snacks, a choice of drink and freshly made hot meals. The hot meals include pasta, jacket potatoes, dessert and traybakes during lunch service.
All food prepared is available to pre-order, eat in or take away. Collection available at the salad bar or tuck shops. You must pre-order by 9am the same day of collection.
We cater for customers with food allergies or other specific dietary requirements. If you have a dietary requirement then it is worth contacting our catering staff and we will be happy to help.
The main aim of St Catherine’s College food policy is to provide a range of healthy food choices throughout the school day and in line with the mandatory School Food Standards.
