We aim to foster a lifelong love, appreciation and understanding of music; through practical music-making activities, an understanding of the theory of music, and by placing music in a historic and geographical context.
Students will be encouraged to make music by developing their rhythmic and instrumental skills across a range of classroom instruments. Carefully selected repertoire will build their skills whilst introducing new concepts, in music from a range of cultures and traditions, and from different historical eras.
Classroom music is supplemented by a range of extra-curricular music activities which students can join, including the school band and choir.
