Head of Music

Salary:  TMS / UPS + TLR 2b (£4,653)

Permanent full-time post required from Easter 2020

We seek an inspirational Head of Music with the ability to lead and develop excellent Music teaching at St Catherine’s College.

Previous experience of subject leadership in a secondary setting and knowledge / understanding of Music within a Church school setting is desirable.

Teacher of English

Salary:  TMS / UPS (£24,371 - £40,489)

Full time permanent post for September 2020

We are looking to recruit to our existing strong team of specialist staff a Teacher of English who is enthusiastic and passionate about teaching engaging English lessons, planning and delivering outstanding lessons, inspiring students and contributing to the development of the English Curriculum.

The English Department at St Catherine’s is a proactive dynamic Department in a rapidly improving College.  The Department have seven specialist English classrooms equipped with promethean interactive whiteboards and an English office. 

Students follow the WJEC (Eduqas) English Language and AQA English Literature GCSE examinations.  The GCSE results for summer 2019 saw a percentage increase in both our English 4+ and English 5+ results.

This position would suit either an NQT or an experienced teacher looking to further their career.

Teacher of Computer Science

Salary:  TMS / UPS

Fixed term post:  6 January – 3 April 2020

We have recently recruited a new Subject Leader of Computer Science who will be joining St Catherine’s College at Easter 2020.  We have a temporary vacancy in between our existing member of staff leaving and our new employee starting and are looking to employ a temporary Teacher of Computer Science from 6 January to 3 April.

You should be an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge and the ability to demonstrate skills such as coding, digital creation and working with emerging technologies.

We teach OCR Computer Science at St Catherine’s College at KS4.  In addition to this we currently have a cohort of Year 11’s taking the Cambridge National Qualification.  Computer Science teaching takes place across four purpose-built Computer Science classrooms, recognising the mix of theory and practical that a Science subject covers.  The teaching programming language currently being studied is Python and familiarity with that would be beneficial.

Senior ICT Technician

Salary Single Status Grade 8:  £22,966 - £24,805

37 hours per week, full time permanent post

We are looking to recruit a Senior IT Technician to provide IT support for both the curriculum and the administrative users throughout the College.  The post holder will support the IT Manager with the development of the IT infrastructure and cloud resources available in the College.

Main tasks will include managing: 

  • AD, DNS, DHCP, Office 365 and Sharepoint online  
  • the smoothwall filtering system
  • the Ruckus wifi system
  • the network infrastructure in liaison with the IT Manager
  • Support Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android
  • The college servers, both physical and virtual
  • Support teaching and learning by providing an on-call service to teaching staff throughout the day
  • Provide advice, guidance and demonstrations to pupils and staff

The successful applicant will have previous experience of working in a senior IT role in a school; experience of learning advanced functionality with the key school software profiles and knowledge of Core IT technologies.

Examination Invigilators / Scribes & Readers

£9.36 per hour

We require several additional examination invigilators and scribes and readers to support pupils during their exams, ensuring that all JCQ regulatory requirements for the conduct of examinations are strictly adhered to.

The posts are claims only posts.  You should be reliable, flexible and have availability throughout the year but especially in May, June and November.  Experience of working in a school / college or working with young people would be desirable.
