To celebrate the successful running of Mandarin in curriculum at St Catherine’s and Chinese New Year 2019, we have hold this Chinese New Year Extravaganza at BN23 7BL. We are very lucky to have the Goldsmith’s dance team showcasing amazing Chinese performing arts. From the cheerful spirit of the Lion Dance and Kungfu dances to the pupils’ chorus and fan dances, the show is a colourful display of Chinese cultural tradition.

As a truly unique spectacle, it was a perfect entertainment for more than 200 audience who are interested in Mandarin Chinese to enjoy on this auspicious occasion! We are also very lucky to have Kay McLeod, the National Mandarin Excellence Programme Coordinator and Lei XU, the Chinese Director of Goldsmiths University Confucius Institute joining us along with our governors and SLT throughout the evening.  Our Year 7 MEP students have peaked the evening with their stunning fun dance! Our Hanban teacher Xialan HAN has led a spectacular chorus from our neighbour school Ratton with the pupils on Mandarin club.
