In Drama we work alongside students to instill confidence and develop various transferable skills such as team work, creativity, communication, negotiation and resilience. Students are encouraged to become confident, enthusiastic and effective practitioners.
Through our curriculum we aim for students to develop their characterisation skills and explore and use a variety of techniques to create atmosphere and mood and examine the world around them. Students will understand, explore and develop what contributes to effective performance and be able to analyse their own and others work using the correct terminology. They will reflect upon their own progress, carefully considering strengths and areas for improvement and be able to express this both verbally and in writing.
We aim to create extracurricular opportunities to enable students to perform to a range of audiences and further develop their performance/production skills whilst also providing opportunities to view live theatre to deepen their understanding and appreciation of what contributes to effective drama.
